    Travel companies biggest Saturday EVER

If there are two thing the 'Lockdown' has taught me, is the facts that a lot of people are clearly on the 'edge' and also totally addicted to consumerism!

So where are the cruise bargains, then?

If they are going to start up with reduced capacity they may not need to offer them yet.

There is a lot of money(FCC) sitting in accounts that is yet to be used up.

Then there will be the open the wallet and help yourself passengers they need to ring them dry first.

Most(all?) of the countries that will be on the air bridge list are yet to open up to ships.

      love this line

Downing Street warned it was ready to apply a 'handbrake' at short notice – meaning families could find the quarantine rules reinstated while they are abroad if there is an outbreak in the country they are visiting.
A load of brits turning up for a week or two won't up the numbers?

There seems to be no mention at all about the cruise ships opening up yet when they have referred to hotels and holiday sites opening. I wonder when they will specifically mention cruise holidays opening up? It wasn't even mentioned as some kind of plan going forward. Does this mean it is still a long way off?

You expect bargains from companies not operating ??

It looks as if Americans will be prevented from travelling - will that be a factor??

          Will all cruise lines survive??

I saw one advertised today on Sirena from Thailand to Dubai via India, roughly speaking. Allegedly with £3000 off at £3800 pp, going in February. With what's going on in India how can anyone think that will go ahead? I wish these people wold stop trying to sell something they probably won't be able to deliver.

TUI reported a 50% increase on bookings compared to last week. Were there many bookings last week?

Yes, I'd expect them to try and temp me to book for later in 2021.

So you would happily pay a deposit on a cruise where the itinerary will be unknown and the on board experience unknown??

We have booked cruises with itineraries we like, but if it all changes, no problem. We’ll be onboard our favourite ship, having a great time, whatever this wretched virus throws at us in the way of compromises.

                        We love cruising. Full stop.

Agree but your love of cruising is based on your past experiences, yes ? Compromise is all good and well but to what extent.

I think I can safely say not much compromising will be needed to continue enjoying our cruises once logistics are sorted.

Tend to agree. I don't think our cruising experience will alter dramatically.
Hardly ever use MDR, use buffet and speciality. If they are busy we will come back later, not fussed when we eat. Never bother with the theatre shows, would rather find a quiet bar with band/music. Don't do sunbeds, will sit up on deck out the way, chat, book, game of cards, etc. Always use the stairs and ports we would rather get a taxi or walk rather than coach or shuttle. I avoid crowds and queues like the plague (or virus ma\ybe now), that won't be changing.
