    Cecil a most pointless Death.

Cecil the lion's last hours and Walter Palmer's vanity | Daily Mail Online

Most of us will have seen something regarding this sad death of a Lion.
I am not a anti anything but hunting with a bow and arrow in this day and age, what pleasure do they gain from killing ,be it animal or human.
    Such noble beasts.

The next picture shows the hunter his bow and the animal?

Some people in the USA are trying to defend this man.
his local community reckon his business will close down due to the protests ?
    Just sad killing for pleasure...Taffy

I'm glad you've started this thread Taffy and your title is most apt. I wonder about the psyche of these 'hunters' who think they have the right to deprive the rest of the world of these magnificent animals. We now have many endangered species due to the practices of big game hunting in the past....and the continuing illegal animal poaching!

Are they classed as vermin? If so, it's okay to kill them? I think most people know my thoughts on killing for sport. It is wicked no matter what the animal is. They only time to kill is to eat. To me the man in the picture is vermin so go head?

I have never been able to understand the enjoyment of killing for sport.

I was disturbed by a clip of a young girl on Facebook recently. She was trembling. I watched and realised it was because she had 'taken down her first buck'. How very sad to bring a child up like that.

I totally agree, a very pointless and long drawn out death, he suffered terribly for forty long hours. Completely unforgiveable.

                Sadly Foxtrot.
The bones of Lions ,like other animal parts are considered to have medicinal benefits ,to the third world countries the money they make, out weighs any other consideration.
We and America consider yourself as morally better regarding both Human and Animal rights and welfare .Yet we see people like this scumbag....Taffy

I cannot begin to describe how incensed I am at the total ba5tard that killed him. I hope everyone boycotts his dental practice, however I suspect the "pro" hunting lobby will support him. Killing for fun.....d..kh..d.

The world is aghast at the death of Cecil.

However does the world comment on the starvation in Zimbabwe??

I too was horrified when this story first broke. Such a senseless waste of the life of such a magnificent creature. What I find even more upsetting is that conservation efforts in South Africa, Zimbabwe and many other African countries are highly dependent upon income from the "so called" legal hunting industry (I realise this was not a legal hunt) Thousands of beautiful animals (including lions) are being bred as "cannon fodder" so that wealthy individuals from all over the globe can jet in and engage in the hunting equivalent "shooting fish in a barrel". The animals cannot escape, their fate is sealed.......all in the name of sport? What makes it worse is that large parts of the considerable proceeds from this industry go towards conservation projects....ironic or what? Why? Because the governments of the countries in question will not allocate sufficient funds towards conservation efforts......indeed, governments the world over (if you regard this as a global problem) are equally unwilling or unable to do so. It's a sad, cruel and sometimes sick world in which we live.

I would put the dentist back into the reserve (without his crossbow or any weapons) and lets see how he fends for himself then. I feel very strongly against keeping any animal locked up or killed for pleasure/sport.

You would feel equally unhappy about the 400 Impala moved to game reserves just to feed the lions ?

Lions are regarded as the thugs of the jungle.

This man also has another lion, a bear, and a rhino under his belt - and probably more besides - as nothing more than trophies. What a retard.
