    My journey is almost complete

Having visited the Christmas markets in Dusseldorf we returned to the boat in time once again for afternoon tea and live music. The last evenings meal was the Captains farewell dinner, so the majority of passengers got dressed up. The grand finale of the meal was when the staff paraded through the dining room with Baked Alaskas, followed by a brief introduction of each member of staff and which country they were from.
It's an early departure from Arnhem today, as we have been told that our coach will be departing at 0845. So we're off to breakfast now and I'll be doing my full review of this cruise on my blog along with some photos, and my overall thoughts, once I am back in the office on Tuesday

When you say 'got dressed up', assuming black tie doesn't come into it, are we talking jacket and tie/cocktail dress or just spruced up chinos and l/s open neck shirt, and dress/trousers for ladies?

On this particular cruise, the men mostly wore a nice shirt with a tie and smart trousers, whilst the ladies wore either a cocktail dress or evening trousers/skirt and blouse. This is our group on the Captains Farewell Party

Not sure why the link doesn't work, as I've clicked on the link from this forum posting, and it opens. However, I shall attempt to post some photos on a separate posting
