Wait for Disney Dream 'has been worth it'

The wait for Disney Dream, Disney Cruise Line's new vessel, may have been long but it has certainly been worth it, according to Mail on Sunday travel editor Frank Barrett.

Mr Barrett pointed out that the operator enjoyed success with the launch of its first two ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, at the end of the 1990s, showing that there is a sizeable family market for cruising.

He said it is something of a surprise that Disney took more than ten years to capitalise on this success by launching a new vessel.

However, Disney Dream boasts a number of features that make the wait worthwhile, according to Mr Barrett, including some "retro design touches" and plenty of onboard space dedicated to two specific activities: eating and having fun.

Guests can sample the cuisine on offer at venues such as Animator's Palate, where food is combined with entertainment.

The vessel is also home to a theatre presenting Broadway-style musicals and the AquaDuck water-coaster, which spans the height of four decks and measures 765 feet in length.
