    Disney Dream nears completion

Disney Cruise Line has announced that the Dream, its newest ship, has taken a step nearer to completion with a 'float-out' ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

Following 20 months of construction, the vessel floated out of the enclosed building dock at the shipyard on Saturday (October 30th) and was greeted by thousands of people who were waiting along the shore.

The celebration featured a fireworks display and appearances by Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Disney Cruise Line's newest ship boasts a number of innovative features and amenities, including the first ever water coaster at sea.

Karl Holz, president of the company, said: "Today marks a monumental milestone and begins the first of the finishing touches for the Disney Dream as we prepare to welcome guests aboard our newest ship.

"Our guests are counting down to the maiden voyage, and in just 88 days, they will get to experience all that the Disney Dream has to offer."

The ship will set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, on January 26th 2011.
