AMA Waterways will offer its guests some new experiences this year with the introduction of two ships.

The redesigned AmaKatarina will be launched on May 10th as "the most luxurious vessel on the Volga-Baltic waterway", sailing from St Petersburg to Moscow in Russia.

Reportedly the only luxury ship in Russia to offer outside balconies in more than 70 per cent of its staterooms, AmaKatarina will provide four suite categories ranging in size from 280 to 432 square feet.

Guests will also be able to make use of public areas including two dining rooms, a lounge, a nightclub and a solarium.

Also set to make its debut this year is the brand new AmaLotus, which will join AMA Waterways' first Mekong vessel, La Marguerite, on itineraries in Vietnam and Cambodia from September 5th 2011.

During sailings calling at destinations such as Siem Reap in Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, passengers will be able to visit a spa, sauna, fitness room, lounge and dining venues serving Asian and Western cuisine.
