    dining options on mv discovery.

we are looking at a cruise to the white sea region of russia next summer.

but would like to know what the dining options are.. we prefer the informal self service eating areas, can anyone say wheather they are available on the discovery?

We have sailed on Discovery 3 times. There is a self service option available for breakfast and lunch but not dinner. There is one main dining room for dinner but even though there are formal evenings, the dress code is not strictly enforced. It is customary though for men to wear a jacket and tie.
There is also a much smaller restaurant, The yacht Club, which you can book at no extra charge but only once ot twice per cruise.
I hope this helps you make an informed decision.

Discovery is being operated by Cruise and Maritime next year. They do have informal dining on the ship Discovery's replacing but that has an inside area whereas Discovery's Lido has a retractable roof but is open to the elements at the sides.Cruise and Martime have fixed dining in two sittings currently.

Not sure what improvements will be made over winter to Discovery.
