Latest Yachts of Seabourn vessel named

Luxury cruise operator Yachts of Seabourn has named its latest vessel, which is currently under construction, Seabourn Quest.

The ship will be the third of three new luxury boats to come into service for the company and will make its debut in the summer of 2011.

Its first sister Seabourn Odyssey was launched last year and its second, Seabourn Sojourn, will be launched at Greenwich in London in five months' time.

With room for just 450 passengers each, the company's strategy is the opposite of major cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean which are producing vessels with ever bigger capacities.

This reflects the luxury cruise line's emphasis on personalised service and exclusivity.

Pamela Conover, president and chief executive of Yachts of Seabourn said: "The selection of the name Seabourn Quest completes the triad of names we chose for these three new vessels.

"Taken together, we believe that Odyssey, Sojourn, and Quest represent the passion for adventure and discovery that spurs our guests’ desire to travel in Seabourn style."

Are Yachts of Seabourn reflecting what cruise passengers want in building small, low-capacity luxury ships?

Strange that Azamara have similar names with Quest and Journey.

The term Yacht would indicate a luxurious sea going vessel with a definite personal touch whereas the term 'ship' could be anything from a cargo/cruise/military/commercial vessel.

When she has yacht lines and styling, like Odyssey!

If Quest looks anything like Odyssey..

              ..she'll be another absolute beauty!
