Does around 50% of the posts on this thread count as superfluous postings in an effort to elevate one's rank by posting for postings sake? :D:D;)

I can't imagine anyone wanting to do that. :p :D
Age does not bring wisdom. Often it merely changes simple stupidity into arrogant conceit. ;)

Yes, I have decided to join the utterly and completely superfluous.

I tried to bring some sort of moderating sense to the twaddle I see
      but my efforts failed dismally!

Twaddle is what this forum thrives on, especially in winter
and I've decided that if you can't beat them, then join them
and I can out-twaddle the best of them, Even Spartan
and that takes some serious out-twaddling.

So twaddle it is: hope you enjoy it, coz I'm doing it to death, baby!

With all due respect - you were twaddling long before you accused some of our more active members of superfluous postings for postings sake. You were the classic case of the kettle calling the pot black! I have no problem with your twaddle - but my original comment was in response to you saying there were posts for the sake of posting whilst being a main contender for such a title.

        cheers
        Harvey

I expect it was 5 Star Spam and not the usual Asda product.
