    Viking SUN

We joined the forum back in July to ask opinions of Viking Ocean Cruises and based on the recommendations here and elsewhere we booked the SUN for its pre-maiden (me neither) from Athens to venice.

We’re on board now and the point of the post is to thank those members who nudged us in the direction of Viking and to say to those considering the line to book now, today. It really is that good. Service is well above even what we’ve previously considered ‘high end’ (we’re big azamara fans but this is another level) and the hardware is very impressive too. You never seem to be more than a few paces from where you want to be next, and there is no such thing as a queue. Entertainment may be a weak link for some but as it never is a big point for us it doesn’t amount to a negative. A leisurely evening meal serves us better, but others will disagree.

I recall one helpful member was due to sail on one of the fleet later in the year and I’ll be interested to read their opinions should they share them as objectivity is sometimes difficult when you’re having such a good time.

We occasionally see reviews here rather than the other section and I think I can guess why, so we’ll add our fuller comments here when w return should anyone be interested.

We too are big Azamara fans and have toyed with the idea of booking a Viking ocean cruise, we look forward to your review at the end of your holiday. You have wetted our appetite already, like you entertainment is not a priority for us, and a leisurely evening meal is definitely our cup of tea. Have a wonderful cruise and don't forget the review!

We would quite fancy Viking, but the ships are a bit big for us. Our friend Suzanne Gayle is CD on Viking Star. She says it is "elegant and sophisticated with no kids and no casino". She is fabulous and our favourite CD. Judith

Funny, we've heard of Viking but not heard about them or seen any adverts from them so have now booked another MSC cruise. A bit of information about them may just have got a booking from us.
