    Staysure Adds Covid 19 Cover

    Hi All

I picled this up from Travel Weekly:

    https://www.travelweekly.co.uk/artic...avel-insurance

    Possibly of interest to someone.

While the quarantine period is in place I have given up even looking at any foreign holidays. Will look at what the insurance companies are doing when there is a realistic chance of a holiday, never know what may change. Meanwhile there are lots of places in the UK I have yet to visit.

I asked for a quote tonight and it was the same price as when Covid-19 was excluded.

One strategy when reconsidering holidays are those places that had a good record of managing the Virus.

Cyprus have said they will cover costs.

I recently cancelled my Staysure single trip Insurance on my June cruise this year. I was given the option of future credit, to be used within 36 months or cash refund minus an admin charge.

Even although we have a cruised booked for 2021 transferred from this year, will wait until balance due April 2021 before making final decision if we still go, so accepted cash refund.

Further to the above post received this from Staysure yesterday.
            Good Morning,

Thank you for using our online Cancellation form.

We are unable to process your request of a Full cash refund.

This is because you are outside of your 14 day cooling off period.

The option that is available to you is a Pro-Rata Voucher credit refund of £0 based on the date of 29/05/2020 when you completed our online form. Vouchers are valid for 36 months.

As there is no pro-rata refund due on your policy we can offer you an alternative of 20% off the base price of a future policy if you feel this would be more beneficial for you instead of the voucher amount above.

Please respond to this email to confirm how you would like us to proceed with your cancellation.

I booked insurance on day I booked cruise, which P&O have since cancelled, everybody else P&O, parking and pre cruise hotel stay have refunded in full.

Insurance is my biggest worry for next year, especially as I am in my 70's how are they going to judge whether you can get Covid cover? is it through age, because age did pay a big part in the death rates!! also your medical record I have AF and just recently had 2 episodes? they changed my medication I now take a low dose beta blocker besides a blood thinner daily .so I do expect the cost to soar. Hi all
I took out insurance with Staysure in June,,(didn’t think Covid would still be around this long)they have finally caught up with me regards Annie’s OP on Covid-19.

Recieved this in an e-mail this morning......

”You may be aware that we recently upgraded our travel insurance policies to include protection for coronavirus (COVID-19) as standard. This cover applies to all policies issued on, or after 16 March 2020 for covered trips commencing on, or after 17 July 2020.

As such, we are pleased to be able to offer that upgraded cover to our existing customers at no extra cost. Your upgraded travel insurance now covers you for:
Cancelling your trip if you catch COVID-19 within 14 days of travelling*
Emergency medical expenses abroad due to COVID-19 and repatriation to get you home**
Cancellation and repatriation cover if you’re denied boarding your pre-booked transportation with a positive test for COVID-19
Additional accommodation and transport if deemed necessary by our medical officer
Daily benefit if you are ordered to self-isolate in your holiday accommodation if you have COVID-19
Cancelling or cutting your trip short after death in the family from COVID-19 or if your travelling companion(s), people you live with or people you’re staying with on holiday are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days of travel***
All I need now is the ability to cruise again....
