      Hi all
      Hot of the press..........
‘Nicola Sturgeon has announced a ban on household gatherings in three local authorities in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area for the next two weeks after a surge in coronavirus cases.

Scotland’s first minister said the localised restrictions, which come into force at midnight tonight and will affect an estimated 800,ooo people, apply to those living in West Dunbartonshire, Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, where infection rates have risen in recent days.

Those resident in these three areas should not host people in their homes or visit someone else’s home, regardless of where they live.’

      Anyone affected?

It's OK the grandstanding against non compliance, but what are the penalties?
A slap on the wrist and ''don't do it again'' means nothing.

Nope! As a solo householder, little impact as I have an extended household bubble.

            A couple of surprises:

I was surprised by the inclusion of East Renfrewshire - the 'posh' folk of Giffnock and Newton Mearns, I am guessing Big Mac, are holding too many parties

West Dunbartonshire is no surprise - their covid numbers have consistently been higher than the national average but Inverclyde escaped!

Interestingly NS said it is not the pubs or the schools that have caused this.

TBH social distancing amongst people, across all generations, has gone downhill from what I witness when out and about.

I am pleased she has imposed the restrictions, a badly needed wake up call.

My big question is how they will monitor it. In adjoining Ayrshire a woman was told to self-isolate but went on to infect 22 other people.

You can now drive to visit another household, but you must stay in the car

We have been walking to our local airfield to watch the light aircraft coming and going. There is a lovely little cafe with home cooked food and outdoor seating.

Our friends have been laughing at us!

I wont be going to an airport any time soon.

Our 2 daughters live in Lanarkshire so can visit each other but they cannot visit us as we’re in Glasgow. Hubby will be allowed to sit close and personal with his pupils from different households in the car but he cannot visit his mum!

Can't they meet you down the pub, restautant, park, shop, actually anywhere but your house

Their penalty should be more than a slap in the wrist especially if they are tested and are positive.

                              Sorry why??

You are compelled to socially distance in bars, restaurants but I bet very few follow the 2 metre guideline between households in their own home.

Lack of social distancing and the virus jumps between households.

                              Annie

PS The people who will find this very difficult are those in care homes and hospitals.

                                Hi Issy

Is your MIL a solo household?? If so, who forms the extended household with her??
