Room nicely kept by Phillip our room steward always had room done by the time we got back from breakfast.
The ship inside is in good nick ,but outside it really does need some TLC,with a couple of people complaining they could not use there balconies due to rust and a build up of salt stopping them opening the door?
We ate mainly in Cafe Jardine Breakfast and lunch MDR for diner.
The menus in Jardine are OK but less choice and not as good as we have had,
MDR the new menus are not bad decent choice with some always on now classed as P&O favorites Steak being one and Cream of Tomato soup being another.
The Meat that I tried was not the best i found it a bit stringy and tough? others found it very good .
We both had plenty of choice mainly chicken,Fish and some vegetarian meals all of which were very tasty and hot ?
Some very pleasant surprises along with disappointing food, We had the best Asparagus soup I have ever had and the worst Treacle tart,
We did try the Buffet and the food again was hot and tasty ,they served best free coffee on the ship up there .
Again P&O upped there game with the entertainment with their Headliners Troupe putting on some of the best shows we have seen ,The Queen show getting a much deserved standing ovation ,
The Main acts were overall good with Maurice Grumbleweed being excellent as was Ngo Ngofo a singer her first time with P&O but I hope not her last, In general all the music around the ship was first class.
We did have a toilet with a mind of its own.
It would not flush then flush several times ,8 flushes being the record, we did report it and they fixed it sort of after the bathroom flooded, But right up to leaving the thing would gurgle for a bit think about it then start flushing
Overall we were happy with the cruise food was good to very good entertainment excellent and fellow passengers we met some really nice people,Got a rest and some winter sun ,(Starboard cabins got the most sun). and had a good time.
It was funny to see the queues forming each night even on Freedom dining with one lady queuing at 5-10 every night to get her table.(6-0pm doors opened) Even more amazing was the queue for fix dining they had a table allocated yet still queued up .
Left the ship with a cold starting and the sound of a toilet flushing .in the background.
Will we go back to P&O yep overall we enjoyed it ,and hope the food on other ships was as nice as we had.
Will post some pictures later still getting our flat ready ...Taffy
