    Your Favourite Gardens

It was all sunshine and smiles at Tresco, on the Isles of Scilly, and the Abbey Gardens at the weekend! Greeted by tour guides and the Garden's Curator, our group examined every flower and specimen - in all that heat as well! So often these garden visits are rushed, but not this time, we allowed plenty of time to visit the garden at leisure and most decided not to rush back to their awaiting ship for lunch, but just to enjoy the rest of the afternoon, sunning themselves and shopping. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when the group returns. This will definitely be a garden on my 'places to visit' list!

We went for a walk through Singleton Park(Swansea) on sunday and went to the Botanical Gardens, it was lovely. So many fabulous plants and shrubs and trees. The Wisteria was amazing. Tame squirrels eat out of your hand, an oasis of peace and calm.
    Loved it.
A favourite of mine at the moment.

Cactus gardens are my favourites whilst abroad. A great one in Lanzarote. The size they grow to and the unusual shapes. But best of all, I have to be on HOLIDAY to see them . Carol :D

Sounds lovely to me too! And no doubt you enjoyed the great weather too - that sunshine does make the difference! Who knows we might be able to make a big list of great gardens to visit - fingers crossed!

I've visited that Cactus Garden too - amazing, never knew that they could be so interesting. I was lucky enough to be with lots of garden enthusiasts as well who were busy telling me all the proper names! Great visit!

Keukenhof Gardens in Amsterdam have to be my favourite. The scent of the Hyacynths and the multi colours of tulips and daffodils is breathtaking.

Hi JC We visited the Alhambra Palace , it's breath taking I have all my snaps on a video tape that's how long ago it was , but it is certainly fascinating and the guide was very good , the gardens are wonderful.
My favorite garden in Cornwall is The Lost Gardens of Heligan. It was a country estate at the time of the great war, but all the gardener's went to war, and it fell into neglect and was overtaken by the under growth . It was discovered in the last 15 years, and brought back to it's former glory, there was a TV programme on the gardens showing us how they used grow things in those days. They grew pineapples in a deep pit and covered them in straw. Such simple ways but they worked. Marie
