    Asian invation.

I have not been reading reviews for some time so not on top of the trends.

A while back there were reports of Princess Northern Europe cruises attracting lots of Asian and Russian passengers.
Cultural differences can impact the dynamics on the ship.
(caused a major stir on CC)

Got a report today that NCL Jade out of Southampton had a very high proportion(40%+) of China pax on one of its recent trips and this did impact the cruise significantly.
large groups going round together effectively blocking access to facilities, china tour reps getting priority on tender tickets were two examples,

I suspect the cruise lines may be offering better rates for that market to get people onto ships ready for the deployment of their ships in that region.

By allocating large portions of capacity to that market they are restricting availability to the western market and it may account for some of the higher prices and lack of discouning, only selling cheap to certain groups.

Looks like I need to do some reviews research to see how widespread this problem may be.

also might be worth looking to see if the prices are better and accessing them.

Now would that be classed as "racial discrimination or positive discrimination"? as one is legal, the other isn't

      Neither.

Ah, but even businesses have to obey the law on racial discrimination, don't they?

Topdecks's post was his own interpretation of possible pricing, he didn't actually state anything concrete re rates and as many have found out [otherwise why try and book a specific cruise in another country] each cruise line has its own method of offers/pricing structure which seems to vary country to country so apart from the fact I think it's a snowflake comment, what's racial discrimination got to do with the opening post?
          It's business.

          Edit
          ps
This snowflake doesn't like the term Asian Invasion!!!

            You have lost me.

Apple sell their products at different price points in different markers. Is that racial discrimination or business?

Neither, business can price and sell at whatever rates they can get away with in different regions.

Within the EU they cannot restrict purchases, some lines do restrict outside the region and block bookings in other countries.

Unlike Air fares which got (de)regulated, you can buy any fare from anywhere and prices for the same flight vary a lot.

In my experience the groups you are refering to will gamble a great deal in the casino, that makes them attractive customers to the cruise lines

I agree. Having done a couple Asian/Oriental sailings on Star Cruise, the male populous onboard is scarcely seen when the ship is under sail, they are all in the casino.

They spend big money and as a bonus to the cruiseline, they don't whinge about needing a camping kettle........ Wilba
