    Where will you be?

Where will you be this coming Bank Holiday weekend? Quietly at home in your favourite chair with a nice G&T or glass of wine looking for your next cruise on your tablet or, along with all of the other lemmings, charging down to the coast and immediately regretting it at the first traffic jam and swearing never to go away on a Bank Holiday (yet) again?

It is NOT a UK wide bank holiday John. Scotland will be working.

Family diner in Kettering Friday night, then lunch with oldest son in Birmingham Saturday and then home in the evening for a quiet couple of days that should include final plans for the MSC cruise.

        .
We gave up going away for the bank holidays years ago (jams and crowds) and relax at home instead. Mind you we won't be doing so this time, because we'll be packing for our next cruise

        Cheers OSD
Our cruising days are over now.................

Living near the M25, we avoid Bank Holiday travel like the plague. Fortunately, we will be moving away soon but will probably still avoid Bank Holiday travel. For us retired folk, every day is a holiday!

We have the Rhyl Air show over the week-end so going anywhere is going to be difficult . Last year the roads were jammed and there were no parking places.
So at the moment we will stay in and watch the show Unless we get a better offer...Taffy

            Edit.
I am expecting Corbyn sat in the road out side whining about the lack of parking space???

Thankfully we don't have to charge down to the coast as we live by the coast in the sunny Costa Del Clacton, what a glorious week it has been so far, with temperatures reaching 30%.

I am typing this on the iPad sitting in my garden in my shorts with no top on, the sun shining down, hardly a cloud in the sky, temperature in the kitchen, one of the coolest parts of the bungalow when not cooking, registering 27%.

For the next two days we will be down on the beach, with our daughter, 3 grandchildren, my brother & SIL, our niece and her two children, and possibly our DIL and babe, watching the 25th anniversary of the Clacton Airshow, which normally attracts over 200,000 visitors. Due to the current weather, the 25th Anniversary and the flying on the Thursday carrying on until 8pm,followed at 9pm by a fireworks display, I expect a record attendance. There will also be loads of side shows and activities going on along the sea front.

As for the rest of the weekend we will be relaxing in the garden enjoying the sea air.

I've got to go on the M25, dreading it. Going to Poole with my niece, her two children and my mum. The weather has been beautiful, but watch it change. Don't have much luck with the weather in this Country when I go away .................................Carol

In that case Carol, you have my permission to stay at home - ha.

My daughter and her husband have recently returned from Australia and for the first time in about 16 years we are living in the same country as each other. They are coming down to us for the weekend. Travelling from Surrey area on Saturday, hoping to avoid the worse of the traffic and going back on Tuesday. I'm sure my son-in-law will be driving and my daughter panicking!!

Have a great weekend everyone. Beryl

I'm on call over the weekend so it can't be a mad one - we don't want any power stations blowing up on my watch!

Thursday night we're going to an Oktoberfest event, Friday I have the day off so will start decorating our bedroom, Saturday much the same then Saturday night off to a Michael Bublé tribute at the casino - 3 course meal and £5 gaming chip for £25 - should be good fun! Then Sunday / Monday will be gardening and housework I guess, and packing for the next couple of cruises

I will be working, then off to our dance practise. We are performing in public next month so need all the time we can spare to get it right.

We don't go anywhere on Bank Holidays. This year I shall be preparing for a house guest who is due to arrive on Tuesday.
