    what is the point?

can anybody tell me what is going on with all this testing malarky? Maybe its me thats being thick but why are people getting tested? Is it something you have to do now? can understand if you have to have a neg test for your employer but why is everybody ( kids included ) demanding a test? If you got it you got it , there is nothing you can do apart from take a few paracetamol and drink tea....... sorry if I am being thick but I really dont get it x ......... still aint got my refund 118 days now! x love heather x x

Under the FACTS (Scottish advisory), if you exhibit symptoms, apply for a test.

Some schools, I understand, are sending some children home if they exhibit symptoms, possibly COVID, and will not allow them to return unless they have a negative result.

Speedy testing and results can assist in breaking the chain of transmission. People should isolate whilst awaiting the test results but often are not.

Apparently now, it's really hard to get a test, one of my friends is a teaching assistant, she has asthma which is playing up at the moment, so her head has told her to take 10 days off and get a test. As yet she has had no luck.

I agree with you though, I think the testing of all and sundry is ridiculous. I thought they did tell people to only get a test if they had symptoms!!

On your refund, did you pay any by credit card? They may be able to chase it up for you, good luck .................................................. .......Carol

          It is a malarky.

I know of two families whose child started with a cough so cue a Covid test for the whole family. Bonkers.

OK, goes without saying now, the whole testing availability is seriously flawed but come on, children get coughs and colds especially starting back at school after such a prolonged period of time for many.

It's a virus. Live with it. If you have a few Covid symptoms, stay at home. If not, carry on and b000er a Covid test. How the hell this country will begin to ''live'' again is beyond me at the moment.

Quite right. I know a couple of people with chesty, productive coughs. They haven'y bothered with testing. They're satisfied they just have a cough which isn't too unusual with these two people. They aren't ill, and one has obtained antibiotics from his GP who didn't suggest a test.

Are they on Facebook? We put a comment on Facebook and we got a reply within 24 hours. We got our refund in 2 weeks after trying all ways to contact one of our holiday companies.
The other way is to threaten with claims through court. Also add that you will be charging both 3 months interest on your money and court costs if you do not receive a refund within the next 28 days.

Facebook does get results. I don’t have experience with cruise line refunds, but had a long drawn out battle with Dyson when my vacuum cleaner gave up the ghost while under warranty. We couldn’t get through to their help line and an email produced a list of 'diagnostic' questions which we answered. They sent us a new wall plug, which made no difference, but took five days to arrive. Next they sent a new wall charger, another five days. By this time the place was getting very dusty. No response to my next contact, so I posted on their Facebook page. Within two hours I had a private message request for our phone number and conversation resulted in a new motor being couriered to us which arrived the next day.

                  Hi all
Due you really think these suggestions on using Facebook etc really gets results.....i posted on P&O's Facebook several times to no avail,i was even told i would be called, never was,i waited 121 days for my refund.

This was posted 3 days ago on P&O Facebook page......never even acknowledged...

"Well it’s 122 days since requesting a refund for our March cruise , I have phoned 6 times equates to around 5 1/2 hours on the phone , to be told it’s being dealt with . Just spent another 45 min on phone and the young lady could not find any one to ask !! And then asked Can I please call tomorrow ( another hour on phone I suppose) .
We are loyal P&O customers , don’t cruise with any other line .
After spending tens of thousands of pounds with P&O this is how you are treated and it really does stink . Can anyone please help as we are at our wits end with it "

Over the last 5 months there are thousands of those posts, totally ignored or a standard reply never followed up.
