My wife and I were fortunate enough to be invited on a ship visit to Crystal Symphony whilst she was in Liverpool and it coincided with our wedding anniversary!
We were on board for 3 and a half hours. We were first shown to the Palm court the observation lounge at the top of the ship for drinks, the champagne (and other drinks) were flowing!
The Director of Crystal Uk gave a short speech confirming their expansion into river cruising and that they will build 3 new ocean going vessels which will be roughly twice the size of the 2 current ships but only carry 100 more passengers.
We were then given a tour of the ship.I was particularly impressed by the quality of furnishings and décor. My personal favourites though were the specilaity Italian dining room,Prego the dedicated cinema which many lines have abandoned and the Bistro which is a small eatery for light snacks which looked really nice.
The quality of the food on offer was really good and even in the Lido café looked so much better than the average ship buffet.I noticed mini crème brulees and lemon meringue that looked absolutely divine!
We were only able to look at an outside cabin and the lowest grade balcony as all other cabins were occupied.
They were both nice but quite small and the balcony itself was tiny.
We then returned to Palm Court for an excellent buffet style lunch and more complimentary drinks.
The staff were all very friendly and courteous.I would certainly consider cruising with Crystal once we are cruising without my daughter.
A really nice touch as they knew it was our anniversary the organiser of the visit gave my wife a bouquet of flowers.A really nice touch and an indication of how they go "the extra mile" I think.
i took lots of photos, please bear with me..
