Yes I'd just spotted the Sky article.
Saving some assets for when things pick up or a new plan already hatched?
Time will tell.Maybe another candidate for the mystery ex Hal ships?

New article confirms there will be an attempt to Phoenix,

I Suspect it was the lease agreements for the ships that could not be paid, wind up, wipe out all ongoing liabilities, run on a shoestring till cruising restarts then find a ship or two to lease.

Mean while the ships are up for sale

CW Kellock & Co have been the appointed brokers, auctioneers and valuers to the Admiralty Marshal of the Courts of Justice in England and Wales for over 150 years.

In accordance with Court Orders dated variously 2nd and 4th September 2020, each vessel is to be sold by separate sealed tender, ‘as is where is’ at the time of sale, on the Admiralty Marshal’s Conditions of Sale, with clean title and free of encumbrances. Notice is given to any interested party that all rights and interests existing in each ship prior to her sale shall be extinguished

We have a few weeks how about a guess for how much each ship goes for?

Maybe it should go in the games section.

              A cause worth supporting?

This report on the sale of CMV's assets contains a link to a petition organised by a fan of the line. As a regular reader of this forum I know that CMV is not everyone's cup of tea, but hopefully there are enough members who have fond memories of cruising on these classic liners, that they might want to add their names to this worthy cause.

              The petition is here:

There are people ready in the wings to pick up bargains ready to do startup at the bargain end.

Quite a lot of CMV trips were bargains they sailed full due to discounts.

Seajets have picked up 3 ships.

Quite a lot of the cruise fare goes to the cost of the ships.
Cheap ships give a startup a lower cost base.

still waiting for the other 2 numbers but I checked into VASCO DA GAMA and COLUMBUS

Looks like they were still "owned" by P&O Princess Cruises International Limited on some kind of charter/sale agreement

Those prices are quite an eye-opener. Especially Columbus and Astor. I would have gone up as high as $1,750,000 for the Astor, knocking off the last three 'noughts'!
