    MSC prepares to restart cruising

    Hi All

    From Seatrade Cruises:

    https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news...a-prepare-sail

Don't worry UK nationals cannot set sail as it is Schengen zone residents only initially.

Swab Tests and only MSC Excursions allowed.

70% occupancy levels, hmm. MSC excursions only hmm.

Not my idea of safe or enjoyable cruising.

No, never. Not even under anaesthetic. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Doesn’t it just? The mind boggles Judith.

From the llnk : "A contingency response plan will be activated if a suspected case is identified, in close cooperation with national health authorities. The suspected case and close contacts will follow isolation measures and may be disembarked according to local and national regulations."

So they could dump you off anywhere then, and presumably wash their hands of you, even if you don't have any symptoms?

                Sounds about right for MSC...

Sorry Garfie - MSC definition of Schengen is Schengen plus UK and Switzerland.

On the lunchtime Travel Show on the Beeb, an item about ‘forgotten crew’. Two or three ships, saw the MSC insignia, moored off the coast of Brazil with very disgruntled crew, all desperate to get home to Mauritius and Madagascar. Not much of a recommendation!

It had to happen I guess. Glad to see that MSC are setting a strict regime against Covid.
