I realise that many families will love it, but to me, it sounds dreadful.

My idea of hell tbh. To be fair I prefer smaller ships. Alas there are not too many around at my price point amongst the international lines.

I agree, small ships are expensive. Many are outside our budget, however, since we are able to sail at the drop of a hat and are not really fussy about itinerary, we often get reasonable deals. Big 'family' ships hold no appeal

Well we've booked Iona and look forward to our sailing.

I think it looks good too and will definitely be booking a cruise on Iona - but not to the fjords. I think it’s too big for that part of the world.

There's room [metaphorically even if physically it's a bit doubtful] for all sizes of ships and also with different activities onboard.

The children never seem bored on Victoria and that's without any extra gimmicks but for those families who adore the larger ships, Iona looks wonderful.

Aiming for the family market I wonder who will fill the cabins outside school holidays?

                      Enjoy Garfie

TBH any cruise ship with more than 2000 pax is my idea of hell and yes I have sailed 1 mega ship from 3 different lines and no plans to return. Each to their own.

We would stick it on the list if they have to give cabins away.

£50pppd gets us interested in any ship.

We are booked to sail on it looking forward to it cannot wait.

Personally although the large ships carry more passengers, actual space per passengers seems far more on the larger ships than the smaller ones we have sailed on.

We have booked her for next October. Even although I don’t really like P&O, I’m looking forward to it as we are meeting up with friends who live in south west England so I know we’ll have a brilliant time.
don't want to work, just want to cruise.
