My last NCL cruise was in May last year. I picked gratuities as one of the perks, but they don't seem to include it any longer.

Gratuities on some ships are getting past a joke.

            no one pays the price

You can get it included for £99 on a 7n-9n cruise and that will have a couple of speciality dinners thrown in.

Agreed, I wouldn't... But I've not seen their top drinks for £99 for 9 nights. That's about a 90% discount!

I'm sure people do pay it though.

£99 is the free at sea cost for a 7n-9n cruise, available on just about every NCL cruise for months now.

Thanks for that. I've never really seen past comments on CC with the extortionate premium package and never looked any further.

CC is mainly American they have a different price structure to Europe.

There are good deals around on NCL some no fly even with the grats and package costs added.

I haven't seen their drinks package price. However, we are on P & O in 2 weeks and even their drinks package is £40 pppd, so as both of you have to take it in the same cabin ,that would amount to £80 per day just for drinks. Over a 14 night cruise - that is £1120!!!!!!! Unless you want alcoholic poisoning every day to get your money's worth, it is not worth it. We tend to spend over a 14 night cruise for drinks around about £100 - £150.at the most, as neither of us are very big drinkers and just have a drink if we fancy one.

I see your £1120 and raise you....

                        $128 +20% gratuities $153.6pp pn

                        $153.6 (£124) X 2 X 14 = £3427

                        Bargain!

So that £99 offer on 7-9 night cruises is a steal.

                          That £99 also comes with 3 dinners on a 7or 8 and 4 on a 9,
On a good dinner in the steak house you can top £60pp(menu cost), so if you would do the diners anyway the drinks work out free

I think of it on a 9 night as drinks and a fancy diner every 2 days at £11pppn

Reality is it all depends on the total, cheap package is no good if the cruise price is high to start with.
