It was good to learn that the "Black Watch" docking in December has been extended to carry out an extensive refurbishment of many of the public areas. An extended self-service restaurant is to be created. It is probably my favourite of the Fred. Olsen fleet but it has looked a trifle "tired" in places so this makeover will be welcomed by most "regulars".

We'd booked the 8-night Christmas Markets cruise which became a 5-night cruise owing to the refurbishment overrunning. So we cancelled.
Then we booked the Canada cruise on Balmoral instead - and got a really great deal!

I know the first photo is of Balmoral (I posted it) - and many of the first few posts are about Balmoral. But if you follow the thread, you'll get to the bits about Black Watch.
Having been on both Balmoral and Black Watch recently I can indeed confirm that Balmoral is the bigger!
