We too shall be interested to see this as we sailed on Serena in February 2008 from Barcelona on the Canaries itinerary.....we had a good aft balcony cabin but thought the decor was OTT and had the usual Costa criticisms regarding everything else !!!

I wonder if this will ever reach the terrestrial channels, I refuse to pay for cable or Sky. There is enough rubbish already without having to pay for it.
(btw, a work colleague is going to record it for me when its repeated Monday afternoon)

Hi Liz, just checked a few sites and subscription channels like Nat Geo are not shown on that platform I'm afraid.

Might master them to DVD for archiving

Thanks Grant, wonder if there is any way of seeing them on the internet?

Hi Liz - I think the answer is no as these are subscription channels, unless some puts them on YouTube or something....

I'm in the Philippines and would you believe its called Sky Cable, so go figure! We do get Nat Geo. but they often have regional variances.

Thanks Grant, we used to have Sky but cancelled because we preferred to put the subscription money towards another cruise!

                    Hi,
Firstly, Administrator and Grant - thanks for letting me know this was on - Im recording the series now. I did enjoy the programme. The ship, the Costa Serena is quite impressive - I really enjoyed seeing the galley and the bridge etc. Even seeing the sleeping quarters and the bunks as I always wondered how these areas worked and operated.

Well first off it looked crisp as anything in HD :D Didn't know much about Costa before this show. First question - When is honeymoon season? Have never thought of that before? And of you knew there were 500+ other honeymooning couple on a cruise would you choose to go?

TBH Costa Serena looked like a fairly everyday cruise ship with nothing too unique or outstanding BUT it was fabulous to see a lif on board hour long programme focusing on a lot of behind the scenes antics, and another 5 to come - BRAVO, well Nat Geo at least!

                        .
Very informative programme, lots of behind the scenes photography and information, look forward to seeing the coming episodes.

For those of you who have not cruised Carnival the newer Costa ships such as Serena are clones of the aforementioned with the same atrium's, neon coloured lighting and generally in your face decor.
Paint the funnel red and blue and you would not tell the difference apart from the first language being Italian as opposed to American, but there lies the deciding factor for me, I've experienced the Italian ships, twice, and every PA announcement be it on deck, the theatre or showlounge is done in five or six languages. It just becomes a PITA.

The main reason for writing this is, I'm sure some people will find the ship appealing and consider Costa as a possibility, that being the case I would plum for Carnival everytime, the same ships but with less languages to contend with.

Exactly what my folks said about MSC on a Baltics cruise on MSC Opera - EVERY announcement is repeated in 5 or 6 languages. It's great for all inclusivity but if you're waiting for a show to start or dinner to be announced, yup it's a PITA

I suspect a lot of the "scenes" were set up specifically for the cameras, there was the usual collection of drama queens on board (would the world end as we know it for a button not being done up??). I was a bit worried by the captains attitude when he decided to enter Istanbul at his pace and not wait until a pilot was on board, I thought that in these matters the pilot was the one to take charge. And what was that rubbish about the ship being blown about whilst waiting? These ships are supposed to be the bees knees and should be able to hold a position ............. even if stationary. I guess this makes good telly even if it's facts are a trifle dubious.
And last but not least that dance director looks like he needs a good slap, his farewell comment was to declare the dancers to fat !!! He looks like he needs a few bags of chips and a family size pie himself to fill his skeletal frame.

Yes it did seemed over dramatised in places, I was looking at the end to see if this had been syndicated for use in multiple countries rather than just for the UK.......
