I recorded this when it was shown sometime last week and watched it yesterday. Absolutely fascinating stuff. Engineering for non engineers. I loved how they demonstrated that leaps of thought dating back almost 200 years are incorporated into the ships of today. Imagine Brunel took an invention of Archimedes thousands of years old and developed propellers from it.

Worth an hour of anybodies time especially if you are a cruiser.

This sounds like the programme I saw about six weeks ago on Freesat. It was fantastic. Think someone has since put it on YouTube if anyone wants a second viewing.

Love this ship so much think I will see if I can get a repeat on Freesat myself tonight.

        If you have SkyPlus....

If you have Sky +, you can watch it on 'Anytime'. I watched it yesterday and thought it was brilliant.

Like all 'anytime' programmes though, it'll only available to watch for a week or so...

Saw this programme in September the night before we cruised the Mediterranean on Summit and it's fascinating programme - it explains in an easily understood format the way each problem associated with sailing (the roll and pitch; placing the funnels in the centre; lack of space; stability and many more) were overcome and, for me, unleashed many of the mysteries of cruising - I will watch it again.

watched this on 'skyplus anytime' the other night. thought it was just amazing to find out how cruise ships developed and overcame all the problems to make cruising better and safer for us today.
don't want to work, just want to cruise.

I missed it! I have got sky+ but what is sky+ anytime? Would I still be able to record or watch it now?

I figured out how to work it! What a fantastic programme! I love watching 'behind-the-scenes' and the history was also very interesting. I'd like to see more programmes like this

hi Aztecwolf, if you press TV guide on your remote, then press red button, (if you look at the screen you will see a red dot with anytime beside it at bottom left of screen) it will take you into pages of programmes/films that are on sky at present but you can watch them 'anytime' however at each programme/film it will tell you how long it will stay on anytime, usually one week. if you want to record one it does it instantly. the programmes/films shown depends on what package you subscribe too. sorry to tell you but the programme about IOS is now off anytime. hope this makes sense.

opps sorry didn't read your next post. glad you saw it.
