    cruise fare drop

we booked a two week cruise with Princess earlier this year for November, we paid the outstanding balance back in August and we have just checked there website tonight and found that the price has dropped by nearly £1000, is there anything we can do abut this?

If you booked the itinerary you wanted, on the ship you fancied, in the standard of cabin you needed, at a price you thought fair, why were you checking the price? Sometimes late deals are offered, live with it.

Nope! If you were American, booked through Princess and had taken out their "Price Drop Promise" policy then yes, but unfortunately we British are treated poorly by Carnival UK.

You could phone them and complain, you may get a sympathetic ear (phone after 6pm, so you go through to the states rather than Southampton) which may offer an upgrade, but to be honest you'd be lucky.

It's really frustrating and annoying, but don't dwell on it as it will spoil what will otherwise be a nice holiday (probably)

Unfortunately there is nothing that you can do. Book late next time.

As has been suggested you could indicate your disappointment and request an upgrade or On Board Credit. You may get a no but as they say if you don't ask,you don't get.

To be honest IMO booking a cruise in November well in advance will put you in the position your in now,the reality is that cruise out of peak season are likely to see price cuts before departure date.
Would it be worth you cancelling and re-booking ,you would need to look carefully at the Terms and Conditions...Taffy

Same thing happened to us with our Holland America cruise after final payment. When we phoned they offered us a complimentary upgrade to a verandah cabin but it was very far forward and we declined. So then they suggested we stay put in our original cabin and enjoy $600 OBC, that will do nicely! It's always worth a phone call
