    Pullmantur Empress cruise oct/nov 2011?

Hi, hope I've posted in the right place!
I'm looking for a mini cruise for me and my daughter (14)later this year (oct or early nov), its mainly to sunbathe and relax, and we are on a budget.
The pullmantur empress cruise from Malaga looks ideal, but I cant find much infomation on it?
Has anyone been on this cruise ship? How much are port charges (as I notice they arent included) and are tips included?
Also is it formal or relaxed (would prefer the latter)?

If anyone could help at all, that would be fantastic, I realise its not a very popular british ship (more spanish) but thats fine with me, but just want to check its going to be suitable!

We sailed on this ship as Empress of the Seas under the Royal Caribbean flag; a good layout and perfectly suitable for mini cruises which are port intensive. Pullmantur's operation gets good reviews on this site and whilst your fellow passengers (and thus entertainment etc) will be spannish the crew are drawn from RCI's global pot and most can speak english well. I guess the issue will be how your teenage daughter will fit in with others in her age group. You will not get any extra port charges above any already detailed on your confirmation invoice and your TA will give you a specific answer to the question re grauities. ...Richard B

      Hi Miamoo
Pullmantur would be an ideal choice as kids only pay port taxes up to the age of 17 (approx £100)The cruise itself is all inclusive so no bills, just a small service charge (approx £38pp).
Mia if you want to discuss further, or if you want a brochure, get in touch , I am Pullmanturs preferred Agent in the Uk 0844 357 1635.

Thanks very much both of you.
Kelv2754 can I ask the situation with smoking on board, are there sufficient non smoking area's as I dont smoke and I dont want my daughter overly subjected to it especially in enclosed areas.
Also I noticed in one of the few reviews I found that the spanish all tend to leave the ship at port, If you wish to remain on the ship do the facilities remain open?
The alternative cruise is the thomson 3 night mini canarys on dec 2nd, I would add 2 nights to this before the cruise in tenerife and the total price would be £800 (inc flights, transfers,AI hotel 2nights,) drinks/port excursions would be extra.
I think the pullmantur cruise would be £650ish inc everything.

            Hi mia
Pullmantur ships are all non smoking , you can smoke
Outside as per all cruise ships. If you decide not to
Get off the ship , the shops and casino will be closed
As they are only allowed to open once the ship is in
            International Waters.
I think the Pullmantur deal will be a lot cheaper than
            Thomsons.
I am back in the office tomorrow and will price up
            Everything for you.

                    Hi Miamoo.
I went on a Pullmantur cruise in 2008,the OH and myself where the only ones from the UK.
Although i loved it,the wife wasn't so sure.
Btw,are you sure it on Empress,it only shows Holiday Dream on 4 nighters from Malaga.
If you search 'pullmantur on this forum there is some info from past passengers.

Hi kelv2754,i thought Jetline was the sole agent in UK,unless that's you?!!

                      Hi Jc

I brought Pullmantur to Jetline way back then , when I left Jetline over 2 years ago Pullmantur came with me ,although Jetline
still have a contract to sell the product , If you email Pullmantur with a request you will be given my details at Vamos Holidays.
The Holiday Dream was renamed the Bleu de France(from Marseilles)when it moved from Pullmantur to Croisier de France and is no longer with the Pullmantur Fleet , so yes I am sure that the Empress is doing this Itinerary , I also represent Pullmantur at All of the UK Cruise Shows , this year we will be at London , Birmingham , Glasgow , Belfast and Dublin
