    Brits and Casinos

The Casino on "INDEPENDENCE" has not lived up to its expectations as a main source of revenue when carrying British passengers. Therefore on its period in dry dock part of the Casino will go to be replaced by several high class shops.Another innovation from "The Nation Of Why Not"

    Really? What is your source?

Us Brits are certainly not as big gamblers as the yanks. However I doubt if they will remove it completely?

It wouldnt be prudent to divulge any sources of info but it will happen soon.Their is no plans to remove the Casino in full as they are a Major source of revenue, but is worth a mention that Americans have to pay Tax on any winnings over $5000.To appease shareholders ( and without them no ships would be sailing)Companies are looking at other ways to raise revenue without disturbing headline cabin prices.

in the UK casinos are avalable in most major towns,in the USthey are not also we are bought up on slot machines on holiday arcades so there is no novelty factor to slots,so we dont play them as if they are going to disapear tomorrow as the americans do,having done a couple of overnite stays in europe where the casinos close as not at sea the USA citzens get quite distressed as missing valuable gambling time

I cant believe that they would totally replace the Casino, reduce it in size maybe or relocate to a smaller area. But HIGH CLASS SHOPS I dont think thats a good idea either. You only have to look at the very expensive shops on Celebrity Solstice class which are always empty.

Give the brits pound shops and everything a tenner shops.
