    I've Bitten the Bullet

Although I already have cruises booked for next July and December; I was lured by an email ad for a Tulips and Chocolates cruise in April 2021.

I've never visited the bulb fields in the Netherlands, which has been on my bucket list for years, so I've booked to sail from Southampton on Fred's Braemar to Honfleur (a port I've not yet visited), Antwerp, Amsterdam & Rotterdam.

I booked a Saver Fare which meant I could only specify a cabin grade as the actual cabin will be allocated nearer the time. I have also paid an extra £14 to specify my chosen dining time.

Am I worried about cruising in April?... not in the slightest.

I have just moved my Canaries cruise from April 2021 to a cruise is 2022. I don't think April 2021 cruising will be back to normal so erred on the safe side, particularly as it was 13 nights, so they may not be cruising for longer cruises at that time. Whilst vaccinations may be underway in UK, not sure if other countries will be opened up to cruising - I hope so. I do hope your cruise goes ahead though and you enjoy the tulips. We have been to all your destinations and enjoyed all of them, so it is something for you to very much look forward to and a nice boost after all these horrible months of no travel.

Thanks Lucy. I'm working on the basis that if for any reason the cruise doesn't go ahead, we will get our money back. Meanwhile, it is something to look forward to.

I now have two booked in April. Odyssey of the Seas to Northern Europe, then Queen Elizabeth's scenic cruise through Lyme Bay and around the Scilly Isles.

If they go ahead, that will be great. If they don't, I'm not going to get upset about it.

Fingers crossed that I will have had the vaccination by then.

P& O have extended their cruise cancellations into and up to end of April 2021.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We have extended our pause into April 2021. We've also shared our new health protocols for when we take to the seas again. With our enhanced well-being measures you’ll still be able to enjoy the holiday you dreamed of, even though some aspects may initially feel a little different. Our actual cruise offerings and on-board experience may vary from the descriptions and images displayed throughout the website.

There is a list of cancelled cruises but every time I add list to post it comes up unapproved.

I think we are all living in hope for the vaccine.

I've moved a March cruise to March 2022. It was Rome to Venice and I don't think Italy would be ready to accept us by then.
