I found them a touch loose also Carol, but just twisting each side strap once so that it forms a cross on your side cheek tightens the mask adequately. Can’t find a pic to illustrate but I have seen folks on TV wearing the blue masks just so.

A SIL of mine, retired teacher, always takes the Fu Jab, and lectures me BTW : and always catches the Flu. Almost inevitably the first to catch it.

      Go figure as they say.
      Hi Annie
Found a new word yesterday and thought of you....as you always seem to quote a relative as evidence of your beliefs.

      It is ‘Ipsedixitism
Susie Dent used it in an article in yesterday’s ‘I’ newspaper,,she described its meaning as...the insistence that something is fact, because someone somewhere, said it.....and without any back-up whatsoever.
Or to an assertion that rested exclusively on the authority of a single person.

I have had the flu jab for many years, due to having asthma, and can say I have never had a reaction to it. Maybe a slightly sore arm sleeping that night, but then just turn over!! My surgery have sent me an appointment for this year's jab for Sunday 27th Sept. Let's hope that putting this in print doesn't reverse the trend

If it was cruising as normal and the cost of insurance and the cruise itself were not sky-high, I would go. However, I would not go if there were restrictions such as social distancing, mask wearing, no self-service in the buffet and the possibility of ports banning the ship or the inability to do as I like in a port of call, i.e stay on board or take a ship's tour.

            Hi all
There is a cruiser on another forum who is now 3 days into a TUI Mien Schiff 6 cruise round Greece.
Its the 3rd weekly cruise for this ship and until now with no problems.
The posters report today says problems have reared its ugly head,,,hope they are all false result tests.

            He writes...
“Okay… The captain just made an announcement we did not want to hear!

Nine crewmembers have been tested positive. Despite being on board for many weeks and not showing any symptoms.

The positive tests were conducted by a Greek laboratory. The on-board PCR, which is now used to confirm the results, already showed two of the nine as negative. The rest is still pending.

Of course pre-determined procedures now kick in. Crew are isolated and authorities were notified. They now have to determine if we can continue our voyage or if we have to return Heraklion.

So it’s wait and see now…

In case you wonder if we are worried – no! Not at all. With all the measures we experienced the past 1 1/2 days we still feel safer than at any hotel, any shopping mall or any restaurant.

Of course I will let you know what happens!”

All tested negative on board they were false positives.

Carrying on to Athens and will get retested by Greek authorities.

Seems telegraph also reported around 5pm as well.

Hi all....from the man on board TUI MS6..1hr ago.

                “Hi Breaking news –

All of the 12 tests done by the on-board PCR machine turned out to be negative by last night already. This morning Greek authorities tested again and confirmed the negative results. So all of this was a false alarm.

Our cruise is to continue almost as planned. With the exception, that we are doing a sea day in port today and all of the excursions are postponed until tomorrow.

It was very interesting to see the news coverage all over the world. Very sensational - up to a point that we wondered if they’re talking about another ship than ours. We really wonder if even half of the media will correct their reports.

Anyway this is the news we received not even five minutes ago.

We wonder, if they’re going to use the laboratory in Heraklion again... “
