They don't need to..the party begins once you get to Amsterdam..and no worrying about getting back to the ship at Ijmuiden

5 quid on the coach to London from Portsmouth if booked far enough in advance
      Just over 2 hours.
Straight on the underground and Bob's your uncle.
      Easy peasy.

            Good sailing weather this weekend.

Ventura is allowing 2 days to sail from Zeebrugge to SOTON - currently heading out to the North Sea..

You can book rail tickets on the Eurostar website from a lot of British rail stations and you can often get a bargain price as there are reduced rail ticket rates with the railway companies. We got returns last March from Durham to Gare du Nord for about £150 each, granddaughter's was about £100. Cheaper than a rail return to London & quicker, cheaper , less stressful & a far more enjoyable journey than flights from Newcastle to Paris! My granddaughter loved it.

Great thing is if any of the connections are delayed or cancelled each train line will honour your ticket and get you onto the next available train unlike if you booked the tickets separately.

Only irritation is you have to wait for the UK tickets to be released about 12 weeks beforehand but the Eurostar is available 6 months in advance. If you can link it to the £29 Eurostar bargain price offers it can be a very good deal.

My apologies, I started this thread and then went away for the weekend, so just catching up with it.

I think from what I've heard it has been quite rough on Ventura, but sometimes, it just makes it more exciting .................................................. ...Carol

If I want that sort of excitement, I can just take a ferry to one of the Scottish Islands ...... Except sailings have been suspended.
