    Hi John
I’m seriously into the looking for cruises phase,,,one booked for April,,,looking at Iona for February May be a bit soon.

Talikng about leg pain (blocked artery ballon angioplasty failed) the surgeon said he can do a by-pass but there is a 30% chance of losing my leg….I chose the pain.

On Ovation of the Seas a few years ago with the theatre at one end and the restaurant at the other,I had to stop at a bar half way to rest the leg and have a couple of beers until the pain goes.
Maybe Iona is a bit lengthy.

Great review Wilba, as always and great pictures too. Sorry to hear about your sciatica. Been there, done that, had the physio! Sciatica is a real pain in the a**, as we Americans would say. 😉 It’s also a pain in the leg and the foot with the invisible thread gripping the middle toes an especial delight!

      Take care. Helen😷

Iona is still offering some serious cheap starter prices(<£50pppd) but P&O like to pack them in.

Thanks for all your comments and best wishes,

I should add that I got Wheelchair assistance from the cruise reminal to ship, through safety breifing, muster and then direct to my cabin.

Further assistance to and from the testing prior to the end of cruise, and when we boarded the Tui aircraft in Malaga, the Cabin Manager phoned ahead for wheelchair from the aircraft, through Border Control , baggage and out to the taxi rank in BHX.

Their food was not the best I have had on a cruise, but their service certainly was.............Wilba

              Hi Wilba
That sounds really nasty but good to hear you got the assistance you needed.

That’s good to hear and thanks again for the pics of the ship and ports of call. Nice to see some blue skies.

Not sailed on the Century (as was) but did on the other older X ships, Constellation and Infinity, and had really good (Immersive Wine ) cruises on both. We liked the cabins and the ships’ layout.

Hope your poorly leg improves soon.

Interesting read, Wilba. I think the magic has gone out of the spontaneity of cruises at the moment, will it return any time soon? I dread the technology that will be required if our 3 times scheduled Norway fjords cruise happens in the autumn.
