On the cruise we were put on a table of 6 , good company and fun, but then the wife of one couple started telling us all about Hubbys affair at the office years earlier in their lives, which made it all a bit awkward for us, trying to dodge around it and quickly change subject.

After 46 cruises we have made life long friends on cruise ships which we still keep in touch with, dinner is great with the right company, only had to move tables twice, the first time on a table with 2 others, they were extremely rude to the diner staff, they were on a free cruise they had no manners even our 5 year old asked why no manners, they are 5 main meals each, we were moved, the other time was with a table of non-speaking italians, we were moved, we love being social and to hear other diners their great experiences, and their day, ,rosey

Do you mean non-English speaking Italians or were they really non-speaking?

They could not speak a word of English, therefore, no conversation at all, rosey

And I suppose from their point of view, you couldn't speak a word of Italian!
