A specific grade, a specific deck in a round about position is probably about as constructive as it gets for most people, and I include myself as most people, and consider 5% as taking the...........you know what.Wilba

However I remember the days when P&O had its own forum, you would be surprised of how many of their customers could not wait until the new brochure was issued, and were then on the phone as soon booking went live to make sure of getting the cabin on the deck they wanted. It used to be be a hot topic on the forum, that was in the days when the brochure was at least a half inch thick.Last edited by Delboy, Essex; 1st September 2017, 05:22 PM.Delboy

I too remember in particular when P&O's Christmas/New year cruise was booked year on year by the same people the day it came on the market.
Those days are now long gone, not just for P&O, but just about every other cruiseline...............WilbaWilba

The month on Ventura we take in Jan is so popular that each year we meet people who have booked two years in advance, as soon as the dates are announced. It's not just the 5%, but the enormous OBC the early bookers gain. This can be a round £800 for a month, and many have the Carnival share bonus, plus Services or NHS allowance, which all add up for a longer cruise.Jo.

I wish I could train myself to book last minute, but I do think the prices are as cheap as last minute, if you book 18 months or so in advance.
Often the price goes up nearer to the sailing date. I have seen almost all the cruises I've booked go up nearer the date, many have doubled from the initial price.
When we changed our travel plans for next Feb/March, earlier this year, it meant booking a P&O cruise 10 months before travel - still too late to get the cheaper balcony cabin we usually book and to upgrade for the flight!
On doing repeat cruises for the Baltic/Norway, it will be my intention to book last minute for a bargain!
