    Nannie State

I have no wish to be offensive, or rude, but can anyone tell me if it's possible to have a referendum with a view to ending the "nannie state", which banns ordinary words from being used in our innocent games?

if I can cite just one example, we were playing an alphabetical game listing any parts of a human body.I used an anatomical word which is used by medical people (doctors) when a male patient has a problem with, say, the bladder, or euretha. The word beginning with the letter "P" was deleted!

If the "nannie state" is upheld, how does anyone become a doctor or nurse if they can't use proper names?
If everyone used the proper names instead of euphemisms, there would be less s******ing in schools at the various substitutes young people use.

If the sight allows it... I'm a qualified "Coxswain" often shortened to "Cox", I've given up on the number of sites that will not let me use these words !!!

The classic was a few years ago, when Ainsley Harriott, the TV chef, endorsed a brand of sausages. His picture was on the packet and underneath it read "Prick with a fork".

I believe the site to be doing a good job. I do not want to be offended by reading certain words that these pillocks use. ....Neil

Have I missed the point somewhere? Is this post to do with Cruise.dot site or just generally sites on the internet. I have a word game on my iPad and having filled in what I consider a perfectly genuine word, was thrown out. Maybe I'm not up-todate with words that might have been removed from the dictionaries due to 'the nanny state' times we live in.

I'm sure it's not the internet - imagine a medical site and you can't use the word the OP used. Jocap was almost banned from because she used a word commonly used in the UK but which has a different meaning in the US. I'm sure public sites like this draw up their own banned words and not the Internet itself.

I'm very tempted to enter a few words to ascertain what can and can't be used on the site.

I was banned for a week from one site for calling someone a grammar nazi but it was perfectly alright for someone to go on about their fanny
