Hurtigruten 120th Anniversary

2013 celebrates the Norwegian specialist cruise operator Hurtigrutens 120th anniversary, and to celebrate they will be calling at 2 new breathtaking Fjords!

If you have ever travelled on a Norwegian Fjords cruise or a Norwegian coastal cruise you will understand just how spectacular the coast line and fjords are, the 2 new Fjords to mark the anniversary are Hjorund Fjord which is only 35km long and accessed by a very small opening, perfect size for a Hurtigruten ship to squeeze it!

The second new call is Lyngen Fjord located 300km north of the Arctic circle.

When I travelled with Hurtigruten to visit the northern lights we visited Trollfjord, a beautiful small fjord with just enough space for a ship to sail though, unfortunately on our occasion the waters were too low for us to sail through but the views and photographs we managed to get as the captain sailed right upto to the fjord for the guests to take photos and view this beautiful sight.

Hurtigruten offer voyages throughout the year and are especially popular for their northern lights sailings running throughout the winter months, a not to be missed once in a life time experience! Or you can take a summer voyage along the coast taking in the scenery and visiting villages and towns across the coast.

So don’t miss out, make sure Hurtigruten is on your list of cruises you must do very soon!
