Gran Canaria Calling!

In a few days time I will be heading off on my first family holiday of the year to Gran Canaria. We usually like to go to Lanzarote at this time of year but we left it too late in booking so it was more of a take what we can get! It always does  pay to book early no matter what kind of holiday your after, if theres a set place, ship or cabin you want bite the bullet and get it booked early other wise your left with whatever’s left!

The resort we are heading to is Puerto Rico, and feedback or advise is welcomed! We enjoy elf catering in Europe as we like to eat out and sample local food and wines, we arent the type to head to the local ‘English’ style pub, we much prefer to try and find little tucked away local restaurants hopefully serving up some fantastic tapas dishes!

Canary’s are generally a sure bet on weather at this time of year as mainland Spain, Greece etc can be a tad iffy as it is so early in the season but looking at the current weather forecast for the Canarys its not looking that hopeful! But i will cross my fingers and toes at that and hope the temperatures rise a little ready for our arrival as my little boy already has his bucket and spade at the ready!

It looks as though there are plenty of things to see and do on the island, you may be aware many of the cruise liners have Las Palmas as a port of call on there itinerary’s also. We could head to the sand dunes in Maspalomas, hire a car and drive aroudn this very circular island, head of on a boat excursion and so on!

I will give you an update on my thoughts on Puerto Rico and photos upon my return!
