Glorious Crete

As you read this I will currently be in one of my favorite place, Crete, and to be more exact on the location Rethymonn. My husband David, who many of you may know from his days here at Cruise.co.uk used to live out in Rethymonn and this is how we have come to love the area. Back from his days of being a local we always stay at his favorite little hotel called Christina, nothing fancy, 3 star bed and breakfast property but its the owners that really make it, Nikos and Costas are so friendly and welcoming and treat us like family, from picking us up at the airport to taking us up into the mountains for a local meal. They have so many returning guests who have been coming for years and years and you will always recognise familiar faces.

One of the highlights is always Greek night when the elderly Greek grandparents of the owners of the hotel come along and cook all the homemade food and it really is a family affair!

As for the resort, Christina is located just outside in an area called Adelianos Kampos, you can expect to find an array of Greek restaurants and little shops with a few late night spots thrown in there too! The resort is generally suited to couples and families.

We are taking the children with us this year who are 3 and 12 and will be sure to head off to Luminopolos waterpark located in Chania for a fun day out! Also a trip into Rethymonn centre is a must, we will grab a taxi which doesnt take long but there is a beautiful harbour and the old town with the cobbled streets and tucked away restaurants is just stunning!
