Crete here we come!

This weekend I will be flying out to Crete for a 5 night break to celebrate my husbands 40th Birthday. It has been many years since we were last holidaying in Crete and cant wait to return to one of our favorite spots after many years!

We will be staying just outside of Rethymon in an area known as Adelianos Kampos, and have booked into our friends apartment complex called the Christina. It is a little nerve wracking booking direct with a Greek friend who we haven’t seen for years, we are just taking his word for it that our room is booked and he will be picking us up from the airport! Not my ideal way off booking a holiday I must say but its the only way we can stay at these particular apartments. I think i will be a bag of nerves once we arrive in the hope that he is actually going to be picking us up from the airport!

But my husband used to be a rep and became good friends with the man in question, im sure everything will be just fine! ( I hope ! )

Whilst on the Carnival Vista last year we finished the sailing in Heraklion, Crete which is where we will be flying into but as you can imagine when you finish a cruise you are transferred straight to the airport so i had no time at all to visit the local area other then the transfer coach from port to airport! If you really want to see your start or end port of call the best way is to stay over, book a night before or after otherwise you wont get any time to see the port of call.

Wish me luck on our Greek adventure, im so used to book a package holiday this is very different for me! I will give you a full update on how things went upon our return!
