26 Hens Take Over Britannia….

This time last Friday I was on my way down to Southampton to board the P&O Britannia for a great friends Hen weekend, and completely up my street what better way to celebrate than onboard a cruise!

Having sailed on the Britannia previously I knew what to expect in terms of the ship and as soon as I boarded it all came flooding back ! There has always been a lot of mixed views on the Britannia but personally I like her, Ive always preferred the larger ships in the fleet over the smaller older ships so she is right up my street.

We opted for a obstructed view balcony, which is the same as I had previously also and pretty much in the exact location. Although classed as restricted view you can still see the sea looking straight out its only if you wanted to look directly down your view is restricted , so if you dont fancy paying the supplement for a clear view i highly recommend the obstructed view balconys on G deck.

Food as always was fantastic, we dined in the main dining room on freedom sitting and as you can imagine for a group of 26 on freedom dining this could have been a nightmare as we all wanted to dine together but thankfully hats of to the staff they accommodated us all together, the first night a short wait we were sent away with a buzzer for a drink while we waited and the second evening we got straight in ! As a fan of the glass house this is always a must for me so we had lunch here and paid £6.95 for the 3 tapas dishes, Tempura prawns are still the best dish on the menu!

Having been to Brugge numerous times I decided not to head in and instead opted for a relaxing day on board, the ship was quieter so we had a leisurely morning Costa coffee in Java and then headed for the Jacuzzis.

We only went to one evening show which was ‘Spice’ which im sure you can guess was a Spice Girls tribute, perfect for 26 hens who are after a boogie!

All in all a fantastic weekend, couldn’t fault a thing from the food to the service everything was on point, well done P&O!
