It’s been a ole time

As I am typing this I can’t actually believe it is now the 3rd of September. I popped into my local supermarket the other day and was astounded that there were Christmas cards on sale. I am completely against this, I’ll save that for another time.

The school holidays as per usual went by in a blink of an eye. This year we decided as a family we would go on a fly and flop holiday. I did just this. we went to the beautiful island of Majorca, which was  a first and will not be our last. The boys made some really good friends who have been coming to the same resort for the last four years. so you can guess where they have set their sights on for next years holiday. We stayed in the resort of Cala Millor and our self catering apartments were only a ten minute walk from what we nicknamed :The Strip’ where all the shops and restaurants are. there is so much choice and perfect for younger families as there is an outdoor mini theme park with Go Karts and inflatabale objects to climb on. If you walked a little further you come to the sea, and i have never seen turquoise like it. Breath taking to see and in the evening it was lovely to walk along listening to the sound of the waves.

A further ten minutes away is the resort of Cala Bona which has a marina. it was perfect having two resort so close to one another. One evening we hired a four man bike and was great fun cycling up and down the promenade. I totally recommend this if you ever go.

On one day me and my eldest Ben decided to take the glass bottom boat trip which went around part of the island and docked in a beautiful spot where we used the slide at the back of the boat into the sea. I was surprised how warm it was. Through the glass bottom you could see so many types of fish, it was amazing.

The apartments we stayed at, cristina were ideal for families. The reps Elliott and Cristina were fantastic at putting entertainment on during the day and evening.  My youngest became a bit obsessed with Bingo and we use to have to hurry back each evening for 10pm to get our cards. Never in my wildest dreams I thought I would rush anywhere for Bingo. My husband did actually win and it was on his birthday too, so it was all good. In the day the boys enjoyed the water polo games and the water carpet, which is where you have to try and run across this carpet on top of the water. It was very funny to watch.

I’m really glad we picked this destination and hopefully go back again.

Lastly it was my youngest son’s first day of big school yesterday. He looked so smart going, slightly different on collection, shirt untucked, tie all lopsided  and he had the best day. I am really pleased he is enjoying it.
