Count Down to Royal Wedding

It really has been a busy time with the Royal family appearing in the news, more lately with the safe arrival of Prince Louis and the impending wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan. I am first to admit I love anything to do with the Royal family, I love the historical dramas, weddings, and the new arrivals. It doesn’t seem that long ago I was huddled around a 5in portable television whilst I worked at Thomas Cook, watching the wedding of Prince William and Catherine. How time flies and they have now three children of their own.

So what do you think of the name Louis? I must admit it sounds quite modern but it has been around a long time. Although Louis is not a British royal name it was the name of Prince Charles uncle- Lord Mountbatten who he was very fond of.  Of course, if you’re a fan of Versailles then you’ll know about King Louis XIV, the child King.

On Saturday the 19th the big day is taking place in Windsor and me for one will be glued to the television to watch the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan. not sure what it is but Harry is my favourite and it’s really nice to see him settling down and getting married and hopefully have his own family one day. I’m sure he will be an outstanding father if only Diana was here in person to see. I like the fact that he is marrying someone who has a completely different background to him, it definitely shows you how times have changed. From what you read in the press it sounds as though they have a lot in common and share the same beliefs.

In a way, I wish times hadn’t changed as I remember when I was little and we had a street party for Charles and Diana’s wedding, I’ve still got the mug! It was great how everyone got together, but in this day and age, it’s rare that anything like this happens. I know if I mentioned it to my two they would groan and show no interest at all, which is a shame as its making history.
