Anthem of the Seas Returns to Southampton

If you like the bigger ships then you need to read this and make a diary note.

We have heard from Royal Caribbean that in 2020 the Anthem of the Seas is set to return to Southampton. How exciting is this?

Sadly I do not have any itinerary information but can tell you it goes on sale Tuesday the 20th of November 2018, two weeks today. We can take bookings on this date with a little as £1pp deposit, perfect if you don’t want to fork out too much before Christmas.

If you haven’t been lucky enough to sail on her here are some key facts and information on amenities to whet your appetite.

Described as a ‘high tech, high gizmo-filled family friendly floating resort. When you see what she has to offer you can see why.

So how big is she? She holds a passenger capacity of 4,180 and is a mere 168,666 in tonnage. I would definitely say she is a large ship.

There are 3 pools available, casino, 18 restaurants- offering first, second or My Time Dining. These restaurants are :

The Grande- 432 Seats- The ships most elegant restaurant which features classic dishes.

Chic- 434 Seats- Contemporary cuisine and sauces made from scratch.

Silk- 434 Seats -Offering pan-Asian cuisine.

American icon Grill- 430 seats- Here you will find many of the All American comfort food

Plus there are speciality restaurants that come with a surcharge:

Wonderland- Based on fire and ice, earth and water. a few of the dishes here are made using liquid nitrogen for smoke infused meals.

Jamies Italian

Chops Grille- steakhouse you find on most RoCaribbeanbean ships.

Chefs table- Here it seats a maximum of 16, so perfect for private parties.

Izumi- Japanese Asian fusion with hot rock tableside cooking.

Johnny Rockets- American diner, again on most Royal ships.

So you can see there is so much choice and variety you be sure not to go hungry.

Novel Attractions;

North Star- Not one if you are scared of heights. 14 people can fit in the glass pod at one time and it lifts you from above the pool deck moving, like a giant cherry picker and has an outreach of 135ft.

Ripcord by iFly- again not for the faint-hearted. This is a simulator skydiving experience in a two story vertical wind tunnel. I’m not a fan of heights but this does sound like fun.

There’s more….

SeaPlex complex which is situated under the North star has bumper car rides, skating rink and basketball court. Not forgetting the standard rock climbing wall and Flowrider. sailing on this amazing ship you will never hear the words@i;m bored!0 from your little ones.

As well as all this there is the Robotic bar where a robot will make you a cocktail or two, theatre, Schooners bar plus plenty more.

I am excited about the return and will defiantly be booking my place on board- who’s coming?
