September, it’s the new August!

Well there is no denying this is true! I thought I would explain why it is getting difficult to find a cruise leaving in September for your fortnight in the sun.

It is without doubt that the school holidays are the over-priced periods of time at which parents have no choice but to pay out in order to have their little slice of heaven, but why are prices for September creeping up and nearly matching August!?

Well let’s look at this:

Children –

Children will of course be out in force over the August period, some love them, some hate that they run riot late at night with parents no where to be seen. Love or hate them they will be there – in September they won’t! This is my theory as to why adults will prefer to cruise in September.

Weather –

This leads nicely on to my next reason, September with no children BUT the weather is still hot and sunny. With prices being cheaper adults will jump on the chance, the travel companies have got wind of this and have therefore hiked up their prices!

This isn’t to say that children won’t be there in September as some families are not afraid to pay the fine, in fact it can sometimes work out cheaper for them to pay the fine than go in school holidays!

In my opinion I do not feel that schools have the right to impose a charge on term time holidays, I mean for starters we ALL need a holiday, plus those little tinkers work hard at school so surely they deserve a break? It is just another money making ploy that we do unfortunately see all too often.

So what are your thoughts? Do you take kiddies outside of term time or are you a rule breaker? Adults – do you like to cruise in September because it’s quieter or does it not make a difference to you?

Happy Cruising
