How to spend a sea day…

During my work recently I have had one particular question presented to me more than any other. ‘Edward, what happens during a day at sea? Won’t we be bored?’

Well there is a simple answer: No!

This week I’m going to take you through a typical day at sea and some of the things that you can do.

1: REJUVINATE

On longer cruises with many ports you may actually want to rest! Have a lie in, order a room service breakfast and take your time getting ready. Then why not take a stroll along the promenade and take in the ocean views as the sea rolls past. Enjoy lunch from the Cafe on board before maybe heading for a spa treatment? Indulge in a buffet dinner and finish the day with a flutter at the casino tables. Retire early and you’ll be ready and raring to go for your next day ashore.

2: BE ACTIVE

If exercising is your thing then why not take this opportunity to burn off some of the delectable cuisine you’ve been enjoying? Find the running track if the weather is nice, if not then all ships have a well equipped Gym. Spend the afternoon at one of the ships exercise classes learning the best ways to keep fit.

3: GET INVOLVED

When on board your cruise you will soon discover that sea days are actually the days when most of the activities are laid on. Quiz’s, competitions, lectures and many more exciting activities are on offer. Get involved and enjoy all of the entertainment that is laid on for you. Mingle with passengers and make some friends for life, I have!

4: DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Of Course if you want a 100% chill out day you can, find your spot in the sun and soak up the rays, if the weather is bad why not watch a movie in your cabin and order free room service. Maybe a duvet day? Why not, it’s your cruise!

5: SHOP

Sea days are also some of the best times to get your shopping done on board. For legal reasons all of the shops close whilst the ship is in port so the cruise lines use the sea days to their advantage and put on some cracking money off deals.

What ever you decide to do on a Sea Day one thing to be mentioned is that you will NEVER feel ‘trapped’ or bored. There really is so much to do and as always a cruise is what YOU make it.

Happy Cruising
