Back to The Sunshine State!

I’m currently travelling in the USA and the Caribbean. I’m writing this before I travel so I’m sure I can say the weather is positively sweltering and I’m having a great time on my cruise!

Before the cruise, I spent 3 nights on South Beach in an Air BNB – a first for me! I absolutely love Miami, it’s such a vibrant and happy place. There is so much to do, so much to see and so many foods, smells and sights to experience.

Here are my tips to make the most of your time in Miami, should you ever visit:

If over-nighting:

Depending on what time your flight arrives you really won’t have all that much time to see Miami so my recommendation would be to book a hotel holding good value, either near the airport or on Collins Av, South Beach. They are reasonably priced and comfortable, many also offer a transfer to the port for free or a small fee.

If Staying for more than 1 night:

It’s got to be South Beach all the way, I stayed on Ocean Drive although this can be very noisy and the hotel we stayed in actually provided a set of earplugs. You are much better off staying on Collins Avenue, it is much quieter and you can stay in a beautiful Art Deco hotel for a good price whilst being just one street away from the beach.

Where to eat:

Lincoln Road! If you want to pay a hefty premium for mediocre food head for Ocean Drive, if you want to pay a reasonable price for a huge variety of food head for Lincoln, easy to walk to and a huge variety of restaurants to choose from.

What to do!

If a day on the beach, or shopping doesn’t appeal then you can easily reach the everglades and mingle with gators, or something a little less snappy, mingle with the Celebs on a Celebrity homes bus tour!

Happy Cruising!
