Hello everybody…..

I bet you were all wondering where I have been for the past few months, well I have been off work for seven months. I have had a problem with my shoulder for which I had to have surgery. I had to have a procedure called a Decompression, which is where they removed some of the bone. There was no space in my shoulder as i had a build up of calcium on my tendon, so whenever I moved my arm, it was all grinding and very painful.  The rehabilitation is slow and is frustrating me. I am having Physiotherapy most weeks, consisting of stretching exercises.  I have to build my muscles very slowly, as if I do this too quickly I could be in trouble, so as the Physio says I have to tease my muscles slowly. Since having the operation in October, I am not in pain, but have been very sore and have a deep dull ache.

I was taking Morphine for the pain for six months, which took me six weeks to come off, its a horrible drug and didn’t realise that my body was addicted to it. The withdrawal process was absolutely awful, I had every symptom going, It felt like I had a broken finger as which ever part of my body I touched it hurt, sickness, aching, shaking and sweating. Luckily now I am clean and not subject to that horrible drug anymore.

So I am back at work now on an six week phased return to work, I am only doing a few hours in the morning and again in the afternoon, to ease me back in gently. Hopefully it won’t take me too long to get back to normality. My boys have been very helpful around the house in doing jobs for me, as before my operation I couldn’t even do the hoovering!!!

Anyway onwards and upwards and hope that 2019 brings me better luck.
