Another long countdown ahead!

Last year myself and family Embarked on MSC Seaside for our Family Holiday. One that we had waited so long for. 546 Days to be exact since the day we booked it.

Being a family of 5, it is always difficult to get good value out of a cruise. One thing that does help, is having 3 daughters who don’t mind sharing.

Seaside was a huge trip and altogether, there were 11 of us and it was a very successful trip. We all loved the Caribbean.

Our thoughts for the next big family getaway was to concentrate more on a short haul flight. I have done a large part of the Mediterranean and the girls are not great with big cities unless there are make up and clothes shop to amuse them!

The Adriatic and Greek Islands has been on my list of places to Cruise to so the hunt was underway.

After many hours deliberating, we settled on Norwegian Cruise lines. It will be a 10 night Sailing on their Getaway ship from Rome.

I have sailed into Rome before but never ventured off the ship. We are hoping to stay a night or 2 before the Cruise and see the delights it has to offer.

It will be my first experience of Norwegian. Not even as a ship visit so I am super excited to see how they are compared to other lines we have sailed with as a Family.

We all loved MSC last year and although they don’t always get the best reviews, I always say that unless your try you won’t know.

Having sailed with them a few times myself with work, I have always found them fantastic. Having said that, I have only sailed on their newer fleet. I think the older ships in the fleet tend to get the harsher feedback.

Carnival a few years ago was also a great success. Lots of flexibility regarding the dining options and therefore could accommodate the grumpiest of teenagers when they were hungry.

So Norwegian it is for Summer 2021!

We have all gone for balconies this time as they are older and need the space ( and I also need the peace). Norwegian were offering a great deal of 20% saving as well as their FREE AT SEA offer.  A choice of 2 out of 4 offers including Drinks Package, WIFI, Dining and Shore Excursion Credit.

Do you think to book so far ahead? I have always found it the best time to be fair. You can drive yourself mad keep checking prices and seeing the promotions change but overall, the prices and choice remain good.

Lots of other Cruise lines choose to release itineraries so far in advance. We have just seen Cunard release theirs in the last few weeks, with P&O closely following later this month. Royal Caribbean will be firmly on their heels too!

If you want to see what deals are out there and can plan so far ahead, then give me a shout!

Until next time
