Alaska all the Way!

So you may have recently seen the TV series on ITV3 called “The Cruise” promoting The Star Princess and the Alaska Glaciers. I must admit, I do love to watch this program as it gives you a background and behind the scene of the staff on-board and what they actually do within their jobs.

I find this program very interesting with a lot of light humour between the staff and guests and it also gives us an insight as to what to expect from a cruise and the itineraries they have to offer. With the most recent series promoting Alaska on the Star Princess we have seen an increase of interest from customers wanting to cruise through Alaska and the Glaciers, which is clearly one of the most fascinating areas of the world. And if you are wanting a sun seeked experience from your cruise, this clearly is not the cruise for you. Alaska has so much to offer with the views and available excursions from whale watching, snow lagoons, native villages and much, much more.

All be it that the Star Princess is a older ship from the Princess fleet, cruising through the Alaska inside passage all ships needs to be of a smaller size due to the 1000’s of islands and protected sea life. Although the Star Princess is a smaller ship she can still hold up to 3100 guests and travel up to 22.5 knots. But clearly this is much slower in Alaska.

As always, Princess cruise lines have a very reputable reputation, service and a brand name that everyone would know. And now that this show seems to be doing so well with it’s viewers on ITV3, I am sure that the next season will be just a great as the last.
