Spot the ship!!

On Saturday I was going on the Royal Princess for the day, we had to be at the port for 9 am, this for me was no problem as I live in Liverpool and she was in my hometown.
The weather had taken a turn for the worse and had gone from 29 degrees to 18 degrees overnight and was blowing a gale, that was not very promising as it was also the Liverpool pride day and everyone who was getting off was heading to the heart of the action, the forecast said strong winds and heavy bursts of rain.
I still went there in a sleeveless top thinking it would turn out nice.
So 9 am at the port we get out of a taxi and walked towards the cruise terminal but there was no ship to be seen, I said to my daughter, what day is it? do we have the right day? It’s not like she can hide.
I then noticed one of the Princess leaders who said don’t worry she is just delayed, there was a clipper race going on as she was due in and the race could not be halted for the ship, also the tides in Liverpool are a pain and they have to negotiate the sandbanks so they were held back a little.
It was actually nice to see her sail in as she normally would have docked early in the morning.
The fun started when she had to turn in the Mersey, it was really choppy and was amazing to watch, we were all nice and warm sat in the hotel next to the port by then but we did watch from the warmth of the coffee shop.

Eventually, we got on board and then we were given a map and told to just go and look around at our leisure, this is a nice way to check out a ship as you can go at your own pace rather than be in a race and see the bits you want to see.
Sadly the cabins were all full so we did not get to see those.
We headed for the theatre first and we bumped right into Timothy Gallant from the programme the cruise who very kindly took some photos with us, such a funny man and his laugh is just hysterical. Everybody just loves Timothy, he is always smiling and happy and considering he gets surrounded by fans wanting his photo he did very well to smile through it all.
Of course, the main thing you have to do on a cruise ship is sample the food, we had pizza late morning which is just gorgeous and freshly made in front of you, later on, we went to the snack part of the Horizons for cookies or brownies, I tried something that said it was coconut cream pie, for those of you that may of heard of it, this tasted just like a Manchester tart.
So then for lunch, we sampled the delights of the buffet in Horizons and there was so much to chose from, I have a thing for the clam chowder on Princess ships and it did not disappoint.
After lunch, we thought we should do some more walking and decided to go on the skywalk, rather I was bullied to go on the skywalk, I hate high bridges over things, especially when they are made of glass and you can see all the way down to the dock, I did video it but probably sound like I was babbling, I probably was.
Because the ship was quite late in we did miss out looking at a few things but saw most of it, it is still a lovely ship and has just celebrated her 5th birthday but she still is lovely and clean and does not look in need of anything doing really.

The retreat and the sanctuary as always is such a lovely tranquil place to relax and has an adult only area as well, the cabanas can be rented for the day and includes a lovely sofa and tv and of course, the fridge is in there as well.

Lots of movies are shown on the massive screen as well on the main pool deck and in the evening the decks change color plus the dancing waters can be seen. It is lovely up there and it was just a pity the sun kept playing hide and seek with us.It is right at the front of the ship so has lovely views and you can just sit and relax

I have put a couple of photos on here but I will upload my videos as a stand-alone so if you want to have a little giggle at me being a baby on the skywalk then go and take a look.
Jo, Charlotte, and Princess Cruises thank you for a lovely day on board

I have added a photo of the ship from a different angle and that is 34 floors above the port, it is a lovely restaurant in Liverpool the has amazing views of the city, as you can see. The sun was shining straight in so there is a slight reflection but what an amazing ship.
